Wilhelm Braunschober has been developing simulation systems for medical research, regional population forecast, VLSI-Design, logistics, telematic and trainig since 1972.
He currently works in the department "Training & Simulation" of KMW.
KMW is a medium sized German company producing military ground based vehicles. The department, "Training & Simulation", developes R&D and training simulation systems for trains, trucks, cars and military ground vehilcles for the world market.
Summary of the talk:
Games, serious games and training simulation have many common aspects like technology, information resources, subcontractors and people but differnt target groups and business models.
The presentation will show how simulation and game technology can be combined in an R&D truck simulation system used by MAN and TUM, where the highly immersive truck simulator is combined with simple car simulatos build from gaming equipment to perform ergonomic studies on innovative car safety eletronics.
The principle behind, combining high fidelity simulation with artificial inteliigence
and human intelligence through adding games in a LAN, can be applied to a variety of civil and military simulation systems.
