Der Sohn eines Schweißers und Selfmademan beherrscht ein weltweites Firmenimperium, darunter auch Marine Harvest. Der größte Aquafarming-Konzern der Welt züchtet jedes Jahr über 100 Millionen Lachse in Chile und Norwegen für die Konsumenten in Europa, den USA und Japan. Die Autoren Wilfried Huismann und Arno Schumann begeben sich über ein Jahr lang auf die Spur des Großinvestors. Das Ergebnis ist ein Öko-Thriller aus den Eingeweiden eines global operierenden Nahrungsmittelgiganten, der sich selbst nur Bestnoten gibt: „grün“, „nachhaltig“ und „transparent“. Doch vor allem in Chile, wo Marine Harvest mit 70 Farmen der mit Abstand größte Player ist, widersprechen sich Unternehmensphilosophie und Realität.

The son of a welder and self-made man controls a worldwide company empire, including, among others, Marine Harvest. The largest aqua-farming concern in the world breeds over 100 million salmon each year in Chile and Norway for consumers in Europe, the USA and Japan. The scriptwriters Wilfried Huismann and Arno Schumann follow the trail of the large-scale investor over a full year. The outcome is an eco-thriller from the entrails of a globally-operating food giant that awards itself top marks: “green“, “sustainable“ and “transparent“. But especially in Chile, where Marine Harvest is by far the biggest player with 70 fish farms, there’s a huge discrepancy between company philosophy and reality.
